The Space, Earth, and Atmospheric Sciences Minor Overview
 

The SEAS Minor:

  • Scholarships and research opportunities with NASA, NOAA, and NSF are available for SEAS minors.
  • Prepares students for career and graduate studies in the space, earth, and atmospheric sciences.
  • Addresses the national need to educate and employ under-represented minorities in the space, earth, and atmospheric sciences.
  • Develops the next generation of explorers and scientists.

Courses within the minor help educate students on some of the most important current scientific issues including global warming, the ozone hole, space exploration, and deforestation.

CAS is devoted to increasing the participation of minorities in the fields of space, earth, and planetary sciences. The center works closely with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and the National Science Foundation, as well as other foundations.
