Topic: Are We Alone? The Search for Life in the Solar System and Beyond

Abstract: As the Chief Scientist, Dr. Stofan serves as principal advisor to the NASA Administrator on agency science programs. Dr. Stofan will deliver a special lecture on the overview of NASA’s scientific missions, focusing on the search of life beyond Earth, inside and outside of our Solar System. Even with her duties as the top scientist of NASA, Dr. Stofan remains an active researcher herself, known for her work on the geology of planets in our solar system. She is also an active advocate for diversity in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), and gives lectures around the world discussing how we can work together better, and how more people can take part in science.

It is a huge honor to host Dr. Stofan at Hampton University. Please join us in welcoming her to our Home by the Sea, and come ask her about how you can be part of NASA’s missions.
