  • 2018 CREST Undergraduate Research Experience Open for Applications

    The APS department is pleased to once again offer the CURE program from May 25 to July 20, 2018. This 8-week session provides engaging research in atmospheric sciences and space sciences using observations from NASA spacecraft and ground-based measurements from optical instrumentation, with a goal of understanding our home planet, Earth. Program activities include:

    • Making measurements and acquiring planetary and atmospheric data
    • A series of seminars and tutorials from world-renowned scientists
    • Developing data analysis techniques
    • Analyzing data from spacecraft and ground-based instruments

    Dates

    • March 13– Application Deadline
    • End of March – Notification of Applicants
    • Tuesday, May 29 – Program Begins
    • Friday, July 20 – Program Ends

    Application

    • Online Application
    • Application Deadline: 13 March 2018
    • The application includes a completed online application form, plus submission of transcripts and one letter of recommendation.

    Stipend and Accommodation

    Students are provided a $4,000 stipend for the 8-week session, and reimbursed up to $500 for travel expenses. On-campus housing and meal-plan are also provided.
