Earth System Science is a graduate course that incorporates the development of Problem Based Learning (PBL) modules focused on the water cycle, the environmental stewardship of the Chesapeake Bay and Virginia’s watersheds. The year long course (2007-2008) is offered to Portsmouth City Public School teachers by Hampton University and funded by SCHEV.

Lisa Baun

I am a TRT (a Technology Resource Teacher for PPS). I have been employed by the system since November of last year. I am home based at Churchland Academy.

I have been teaching since Sept of 1996. I started out as a librarian and later became a computer teacher in private schools in Virginia Beach. After a move to the west coast, I worked in the Business Relations Center of a community college in Bremerton, Washington. The 3 years prior to Portsmouth, I was the assistant director of a computer education company in Wilmington, DE –focusing on elementary engineering and robotics for elementary students.

Along with a BS in Health Services Administration from Auburn University, and a MS in Elementary Education from old Dominion—I am a certified paralegal and certified school librarian.
