Earth System Science is a graduate course that incorporates the development of Problem Based Learning (PBL) modules focused on the water cycle, the environmental stewardship of the Chesapeake Bay and Virginia’s watersheds. The year long course (2007-2008) is offered to Portsmouth City Public School teachers by Hampton University and funded by SCHEV.
I have been teaching as an Earth Science teacher for 10 years. I have taught at Churchland High School for 8 of those years, and I.C.Norcom for 2 years. I have always taught Earth Science or Oceanography. I hold a BS in Geology (ODU 1996). I love rocks, astronomy, oceanography and Walt, not necessarily in that order.
