Polar Stratospheric Clouds (PSCs) and Polar Mesospheric Clouds (PMCs)

Polar Stratospheric Clouds (PSCs):

Use of satellite and airborne lidar data to develop PSC climatologies and microphysics, and to understand PSC effects on ozone hole chemistry.

Polar Mesospheric Clouds (PMCs):

Use of current HALOE data to look for evidence of PMCs. The AIM satellite, with a planned launch in 2006, will study PMC clouds.
