OVERVIEW

This 8-week session provides engaging research in atmospheric sciences and space sciences using observations from NASA spacecraft and ground-based measurements from optical instrumentation, with a goal of understanding our home planet, Earth.

  • Research using planetary and atmospheric measurements
  • Learn from a series of seminars and tutorials
  • Develop data analysis techniques
  • Analyze data from spacecraft and ground-based instruments

  • The application includes a completed online application form, plus submission of transcripts and one letter of recommendation.

Stipend and Accommodation

Students are provided a $4,000 stipend for the 8-week session, and reimbursed up to $500 for travel expenses. On-campus housing and meal-plan are also provided.

Eligibility and Selection Criteria

Students must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate student to participate (i.e., graduating high school seniors who have not yet begun their undergraduate program and recent undergraduate degree recipients are not eligible).  Successful applicants will have GPA > 3.0 in a STEM field, and have experience with some form of computer programming.
